TASTE BUDS FRENZY
Event: The Taste of Oklahoma City.
To Benefit: Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Oklahoma's one-to-one mentoring programs.
Presenting sponsor: Chesapeake Energy.
Venue: Renaissance Ballroom, Cox Convention Center.
The evening: 30 local restaurants displayed tastes of foods from their menu items for guests to enjoy. Silent and live auctions also gave Big Brothers/Big Sisters supporters a chance to bid on items of their choice in order to further support the fundraiser.
Masters of ceremony: Lane Tompkins and Ashton Edwards.
Officers: Oklahoma City area director is Rachel Hernandez, and OKC area resource board chairman is Lee Ann DeArmon.
Of note: Big Brothers/Big Sisters is a donor-supported volunteer organization that provides children facing adversity caring adult mentors and friends, who through professionally supported relationships help to change their lives.
CANDY AND SUCH DELIGHTS
Event: Chocolate Decadence.
Where: Hudson Essex Loft Office Building.
To benefit: Historic Automobile Alley.
The evening: Decadent chocolate treats from local restaurants and caterers, and wine, gourmet coffees and Champagne were served. This Valentine-inspired benefit also included smooth jazz music and an auction.
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION
Event: Night at the Oscars Joie De Vie Dance.
Where: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Winners: Winning Oscars for lookalikes went to Terry Runnels (Sean Connery) and Jackie Short (Liza Minnelli).
President: Rich Rodgers is president of the Joie De Vie Dance Club.
