The evening: Red or black tie was the requested dress for this annual event, which raised a net amount of $10,258,188 in its first 20 years. Silver Strings violinists from Putnam City serenaded the more than 700 guests as they walked the corridor leading to the ball. Rick Moses worked his floral magic with dinner table centerpieces of mixed roses in hues of pink, hot pink and red. A silent and live auction was hawked by Barry Wechert. The Dr. Larry “T-Byrd'' Gordon & The Music People Luv Orchestra/Show Band kept the dance floor crowded.
Chairmen: Co-chairmen were Stacey Stiglets and Jim Roth. Mary Deane Streich is president, Davis Chansolme is vice president, Rick Moses is secretary and Jim Vallion is treasurer. A few of the committee members were Dee Dugan, Wilma Gooding, Charlie Harris, Desmond Mason, Pam Mowry, Linda Garrett, Shane Crawford, Dave Blew, Dinky Hammam, Mary Ruffin, and Genea Vallion.
Honored: Cindy Boerger received the Rickard May Award.
Event: Lyric Understudies Kick-Off Party.
Venue: Lyric Theatre's Plaza Theatre lobby.
What: The Understudies is Lyric's young patron group. The Kick-Off Party is held the first of each season to promote patron membership and encourage people to sign up for next year.

Benefiting: Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County, Celebrations Preschool, Payne Center for Education and Pi Beta Phi Foundation.
Program: Jennifer Eve Fish moderated a chat between Carrie Keating Leonard, National Young Mother of the Year and her mother, former First Lady Cathy Keating, as the three were seated onstage in comfy chairs. They spoke on motherhood, community service and challenges young mothers meet every day. Carolyn Zachritz entertained with harp music. Decor colors were hot pink, white and green. Mixed spring flowers were the centerpieces.
