FOR THE CHILDREN

Event: Cork & Canvas.

Where: Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market.

To benefit: Positive Tomorrows, an elementary school for homeless children.

What: Wine pairings, a signature cocktail, appetizers, live music and silent and live auctions. Original artwork created by the students at Positive Tomorrows was the highlight of the event.

President and principal: Susan Agel.

IN RECOGNITION

Event: Leadership In Arts and Education Award Dinner.

Venue: Petroleum Club.

Hosted by: Harding Fine Arts Academy.

Honored: Robert Henry, Oklahoma City University president, received the John and Joy Reed Belt Award.

ABOUT SURVIVING

Event: Celebration of Life.

Hosted by: The Imagine Me Foundation.

Venue: Sheraton Midwest, Reed Conference Center.

What: An award ceremony to congratulate and honor cancer survivors for their hope and bravery in the face of obstacles and challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. The evening included music, dining and dancing. Guests also participated in a candlelight vigil to honor those who did not survive.

FABRIC AND FASHION

Event: Linen Runway Show.

Where: Gaillardia Country Club.

Staging the event: Marianne’s Rentals.

Hosted by: Miss Oklahoma 1986, Mignon Merchant-Ball.

What: Twenty Oklahoma Miracle Children, along with models, including Miss Oklahoma 2013, Kelsey Griswold, and Miss America 2007, Lauren Nelson-Faram, participated in this fun, fashionable style show. Participants modeled dresses created from table linens from Marianne’s Rentals. At the conclusion of the modeling, 22 girls from CMN joined the models for a final walk on the runway.
