HIGH KICK

Event: Allied Arts Fundraising Campaign Kick Off.

Where: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

Campaign chairmen: Judy Love and Mike Turpen.

The evening: Really cold weather didn't dampen enthusiasm or attendance at this kickoff party, which was invitation only for donors, volunteers and members of its supported agencies. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails were served and guests were entertained by Allied Arts member agencies. Love, Turpen and board chairman Lonny Towell led the program.

Tribute paid: Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby, honorary chairman, and the Chickasaw Nation were recognized for their leadership and philanthropic contributions.

A fact: Founded in 1971, the organization has raised more than $43 million to advance the arts in central Oklahoma.

Allied Arts supporters seen: Joan Maguire, Polly and Larry Nichols, Billy Bowden and Jane Harlow, Chris Reen, Jane Calvey, Margaret and Jay Henry, Mason and Barbara Jett, Lee Allan Smith, Cindy Shelby, Linda and Jim Lowe, Joe Fallin, Ann and Barry Gray.

A CONSIDERABLE SUM

Event: Snowflake Gala.

What: A celebration of United Way of Central Oklahoma's finish line for its 2013 fundraising campaign, which raised $22,067,626 and exceeded the projected goal of $22 million.
