Penguins from SeaWorld visit The Oklahoman to entice people to visit San Antonio

But in bringing these animal ambassadors to the city, their handlers really wanted to encourage people to visit the Texas city this spring break and into summer.

Seaworld San Antonio and related experiences

Aquatica, SeaWorld San Antonio's new water park, in its second year, officially opened this weekend but has its grand opening scheduled for May 19. Like its sister park in Orlando, Fla., the water park is designed as a beachside resort in the South Seas, a news release notes. But it also includes undersea adventures, such as the chance to feed and wade with stingrays and float in a four-seat raft through an underwater grotto, and opportunities to view macaws, roseate spoonbills and colorful fish.

SeaWorld San Antonio celebrates its 25th operating season with bigger and better shows and animal interactions. It has opened for the season. On Saturdays through June 1, SeaWorld guests can enjoy extended hours for “Spring Into Night,” featuring nighttime shows that include “Shamu Rocks!”, “Sea Lions Tonite,” “Elmo Rocks” and “Sesame Street Bay of Play Block Party.” On weekends in April, the “Just for Kids” series includes live children's shows from nationally recognized entertainers like Caillou and Imagination Movers.
