Peppers Ranch Inc. has been awarded a $15,000 grant by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation to expand its tutoring program for foster children.

Founded in 1969, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation works with donors to create charitable funds that will benefit the community both now and in the future.

The Peppers Ranch grant comes from the Opportunities for Children iFund, a compilation of donations from donors to benefit direct services to children who are disadvantaged because of physical or economic reasons.

Peppers Ranch Foster Care Community is located on 240 acres north of Edmond and southwest of Guthrie. It is home to seven families and 41 children, of which 22 have a sibling living at the ranch.

The first home at the ranch was built in April 2002, the McClendon Equestrian Center was completed in 2005 and the Watts Ag Center was finished in May 2006.

In 2010, construction of two additional homes and a 9,000-square-foot learning center were completed. In 2011, three more homes were built, all debt free.
