Per-student spending still low in Oklahoma

WASHINGTON — Oklahoma ’s spending per public school student was the fifth lowest in the nation in the 2006-07 academic year, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures released Monday.

Oklahoma spent $7,420 per pupil that year, ranking it above only Arizona , Tennessee , Idaho and Utah , the Census Bureau reported.
