Pertussis booster eyed for Oklahoma 7th-graders

Oklahoma seventh-graders are closer to being required to get a pertussis booster vaccine beginning with the 2010-11 school year, following approval Tuesday by the state Board of Health.

"We still have quite a bit of whooping cough,” Dr. Stanley Grogg , vice chairman of the Oklahoma Immunization Advisory Committee and dean of the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences , told the board.
