In 2010 Maddie was playing with a canine pal when she tore a ligament in her hind leg that doctors said would require knee surgery. This is one of those times having doggy insurance would have come in handy, as the surgery would cost more than $700.
Scott gave the go-ahead and doctors gave Maddie a new lease on life complete with a synthetic ligament to replace the torn ligament.
Maddie got ulcers from the stress of the surgery but otherwise recuperated well.
“I was really lucky. Dr. Ron (Laughlin) took good care of her,” Scott said.
“It's a good thing my Mom is compassionate about dogs,” he said, since she loaned him the money for the surgery on a payment plan.
This holiday season, from my family to yours, have a very merry “ChristmaKwanzaRamaHannukah!”
