Pooches to parade through Nichols Hills park
Who can resist a precious pooch dressed up as Superman? Or a Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz?” Not me.
The annual Nichols Hills Pooch Parade is Oct. 21, and this might be the year your K9 companion wins the award for Best Costume, Best Little Dog or Best Big Dog.
The event is the biggest fundraiser for A.R.F. — Animal Rescue Friends of Nichols Hills. The small nonprofit organization rescues animals that might otherwise be euthanized and provides them with vaccinations, neutering and microchips.
A.R.F. will be at the event with animals that are available for adoption.
Dress your dog and head out to the event at Grand Boulevard Park. The parade features booths with pet-related vendors offering everything from pet clothes, homemade biscuits, and attractions for humans including a bouncy house for the kids, Mutt's Amazing Hot Dogs and a Kona Ice snow cone stand.
Registration begins at noon, followed by the 1 p.m. parade.
