Last week, I wrote about Sadie Jo, the shih tzu that stole the hearts of DeWayne and Vicky Hensley, of Moore. This week, we focus on Chrissi, another well-loved shih tzu. Chrissi is “very spoiled,” writes her owner, Sandra Masapust, of Oklahoma City. Chrissi was a gift from a friend who knew how much Masapust missed having a dog.
Chrissi never stays home alone. When Masapust goes anywhere, her dad doggy-sits. The two keep each other company.
“Every morning I go to work teaching kindergarten I drop Chrissi off at my dad's, whom she knows as Papaw,” Masapust wrote in her Pet Tale submission letter. “All I have to do is pull up to the house, open the car door and Chrissi jumps out and runs to her Papaw, who is awaiting her arrival.”
Upon arrival at her Papaw's house, Chrissi always expects a treat and Papaw always has one ready.
“When Chrissi is ready for dinner, at 4 p.m., she will jump on the couch and stare at her Papaw,” Masapust wrote. “He will let her stare for a minute or two, then ask her if she is hungry. The barking, dancing and carrying-on begins!”
Chrissi loves her Papaw. All Masapust has to do is ask Chrissi if she wants to go see Papaw and Chrissi will dance around, bark and run to the door until she gets to go.
