Melissa Hayer Published: May 6, 2013

The Nickelodeon CG-animated half-hour preschool series “Peter Rabbit” will feature a Mother’s Day theme at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8,.

The network will also air a “mom-themed marathon” comprised of episodes of preschool hit shows “Dora the Explorer,” “Team Umizoomi,” “Bubble Guppies” and “Max & Ruby” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 10.

Details on “Peter Rabbit,” provided by Nickelodeon, are as follows:

In “The Tale of the Mother’s Day Pie,” Peter forgets to get his mother a present for Mother’s Day so he goes on a hunt for strawberries to make his mother¹s favorite pie.  Peter, Benjamin and Lily find strawberries in Mr. Tod’s yard, but must make a quick escape before the conniving fox makes them dinner.

“Peter Rabbit” is a fresh re-imagining of the popular Beatrix Potter children’s books based on Peter Rabbit, which have sold over 250 million copies worldwide and been translated into 35 languages.  The series features educational goals that encourage preschoolers to learn problem-solving and interpersonal skills, self-efficacy, resilience, positive re-framing and fostering an interest in and respect for nature.

At Nickelodeon’s award-winning website,, kids and parents can watch a sneak-peek Peter Rabbit video and get printable Peter Rabbit Mother’s Day activities like cards, certificates, and more.  Plus, preschoolers can play the newest Peter Rabbit game, “Peter Rabbit’s Downhill Dash.”

“Peter Rabbit” airs regularly weekdays at 11 a.m. on Nickelodeon.
