'Phony' baloney from the president

President Barack Obama would rather Republicans in Congress, and indeed all Americans, forget about learning more details regarding IRS misdeeds or the killing of an ambassador by terrorists in Libya. To Obama and his camp, these are getting in the way of their grand plans — and they’re bogus to boot.

The White House press secretary called these scandals “phony” during his press briefing Tuesday, and used the same word the next day on MSNBC talking about the IRS mess. Also on Wednesday, Obama mentioned these non-stories during his speech about the economy.

“But with this endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball,” Obama said. “And I am here to say this needs to stop.”

No, what needs to stop is this administration’s constant blame-shifting and obfuscating about these very real and serious events.
