Freshman running back Joe Mixon isn’t practicing still as the investigation into a July 26 incident near campus continues but Mixon was in attendance Saturday morning as the Sooners went through an approximately 90-play scrimmage at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Midwest City defensive back Will Sunderland posted a picture on Twitter of Mixon watching the scrimmage.
Mixon was involved in an altercation in the early morning hours July 26 at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe.
Amelia Rae Molitor, a 20-year-old OU student, accused Mixon of punching her once in the face, breaking four bones.
Mixon has said through his attorney that he acted in self defense.
The five-star recruit was expected to compete for immediate playing time as the Sooners lost running back Brennan Clay, Roy Finch and Damian Williams from last season.
