Armed Forces Day Parade
Laila Evans and Madison Danner watch the parade in their ladybug costumes. The girls were waiting to join a contingent from St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, who were walking in the parade; Evans and Danner joined the group when they reached the girls' location. The costumes were made by church member Aletha Laurent who used hula hoops , fabric, cardboard and duct tape. Del City and eastern Oklahoma County residents lined S. Sunnylane Road to show their support for America's military, applauding and cheering participants who marched and rode in the city's Armed Forces Day Parade on Saturday morning, May, 19, 2012. The parade worked its way along the Del City route for a little more than an hour. Photo by Jim Beckel, The Oklahoman
