EXTENDED DROUGHT

Cows are paraded through the sale arena at the Woodward Livestock Auction on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. This summer's drought has led many ranchers and producers to sell their cattle early. On a recent Tuesday, about seven times the normal number of cattle were sold at Woodward Livestock Auction . Lack of rain and a string of days when temperatures exceeded 100 degrees have created extreme conditions for farmers, ranchers and citizens of many communities in western Oklahoma.
