CRASH CAUSE TRAFFIC SNARL

Traffic in both eastbound lanes of I-40, between Anderson Road and Peebly Road,  came to a complete halt while police, fire and medical personnel responded to a vehicle accident about 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012,   A spokesperson for OHP issued this statement:  At 12:50 p.m., near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Interstate 240, an eastbound driver traveling at a high rate of speed rear-ended a car and crossed the median, striking  another vehicle in the westbound lanes, Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Betsy Randolph said. The driver, who was not insured or wearing a seat belt, was treated and released for a head injury.  No one else was injured in the crash.    Photo by Jim Beckel, The Oklahoman
