Pickens: OSU is smart and won’t be left "high and dry" in conference realignment

BROKEN ARROW – Because of Oklahoma State’s Bedlam rivalry and political connection with the University of Oklahoma, and because of his donations to the University of Texas and personal relationships with UT decision-makers, billionaire OSU booster T. Boone Pickens says his alma should be positioned favorably in any conference scenario.

Oklahoma State, Pickens said, “does have (beneficial) relationships. We will be in the deal, whatever the deal is. I believe that. Ultimately, I’d rather keep the Big 12 together.”

Pickens was in Broken Arrow for the Friday grand opening of Tulsa Tech’s new automotive training center. On Monday, during a meeting in Tulsa, the OU board of regents is expected to discuss the state of the diminished Big 12 Conference and other possible conference-membership options.
