STILLWATER — Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach Travis Ford balances optimism and caution with his second Cowboys squad.

That’s the high-wire act of mixing four key returners, led by Preseason All-Big 12 pick James Anderson, with seven newcomers, including six freshmen.
