Pipeline, barge burn in Louisiana bayou

A barge and a Chevron pipeline are on fire and an oil slick is visible in the waters of a bayou south of New Orleans after a tug pushing the barge crashed into the pipeline Tuesday evening, the Wall Street Journal reports.


The barge was carrying 2,215 barrels of oil when the tug crashed into the pipeline in Bayou Perot, about 30 miles south of New Orleans, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
