When you want to please your elevated appetite, but still be in the center of all the action, consider Zio’s in Bricktown. This allicient Italiano is top-notch when it comes to high-rise patio eating downtown. Perched out above the glorious and winding canal and enclosed by decorative wrought iron, a meal here would please even the most discerning of Romans. Try the oven roasted salmon amalfi or ziti al forno or just stick to spaghetti and meat sauce. But don’t forget the wine. Plus, when positioned on the balcony, Hooters is just across the canal. Dinner and a show.
Flatire Burgers
Students at UCO know Flatire Burgers is the place to go for a burger or beer in between classes. Right across the street from the campus, this unique location is easily within walking distance and boasts an impressive double-decker patio. This diner, in addition to its already cheap prices, offers a different special every week. It’s perfect for any student on a meager budget. For many Edmondians, it just doesn’t get any better than enjoying a delicious 120oz Miller Lite Bronk for $10 (Tuesday’s special) up on the balcony. Plus the scenic views of the UCO campus and a 7-Eleven aren’t bad either.
Cocktails on the Skyline
A martini would go swell with this swank location on the Roof Terrace of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. This posh patio is way up high. It even closes for high winds. Admission is $9 for non-members, but that includes admission to the art galleries as well. Galleries close at 9 p.m. and the patio closes at 10:30 p.m. Thursday is the night to hit up this exquisite location. The full bar is open and appetizers from the Museum Cafe are served. You can’t match the ambiance of the Oklahoma City skyline during a gorgeous May day, especially if you view it from the Roof Terrace.
