CLAYTON — The pilot of an aircraft reported missing Friday was found dead by rescuers in southeastern Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
The Highway Patrol was asked to help locate an aircraft that departed from Tahlequah after it never arrived at its destination in Terrell, Texas.
Inclement weather that caused impassable roadways delayed rescuers' efforts. The crew reached the crash site about 10:15 a.m. Saturday and found the pilot, the aircraft's only occupant, dead at the scene.
Troopers identified the pilot as Stephen Mark Hardin, 54, of Terrell.
