A Frontier Airlines plane that experienced mechanical problems has been moved from a runway at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City after it was stuck there for several hours on Thursday night.

The plane was moved about midnight and should be repaired today, airport spokesman Mark Kranenberg said.

"We're back to normal operations," Kranenberg told The Oklahoman this morning.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Passengers were removed from the Airbus 319-100 and taken to the terminal after they waited on a runway for two hours, Kranenberg said.

An editor with The Oklahoman who was on the plane said the pilot told passengers the aircraft's brakes locked up after touching down. The editor said one of the nosewheel tires had blown and the nosewheel structure was bent at a 90-degree angle.

The plane arrived from Denver, where 136 passengers were delayed after their scheduled flight was canceled.

Well, the DOK published a 3rd story on this today, pretty much a carbon copy of the first 2 printed...must be a slow day in the world out there in OKC, 3 stories about a plane that malfunctioned....

I'll try it again.... Isn't it ironic that an editor from the Daily-O was on this discount airliner? After all, OPUBCO owns a fleet of jets that sit waiting right on the East tarmac. I also agree that 2 hours to wait in an idle jet was not very nice. What did they think was going to happen, AAA was going to shop up and change the tire? As for the nose gear being bent 90 degrees, it may have just been an observation error. Nose gears are not the same design as landing gears. The axles and wheels are mounted at 90 degrees from the main shaft. It could easily look like damage.

Really? They moved the plane? Amazing ! Somehow, I didn't figure they'd leave it set in place. Amazing what this rag considers news, huh? 2 articles on the same incident, and one for nothing more than space filler to inform the populace the plane was moved.....

Why did they have to wait on the runway for 2 hours? I think they should have had a bus take them to the terminal way before that.
