The Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department's Play in the Park kicks off Monday. The free summer program provides supervised, outdoor activities to children ages 6 and older at 24 local parks and recreation facilities.

Activities include structured games and sports, arts and crafts, themed programming and occasional field trips to local attractions.

Parents are required to register their children on-site prior to participation. Free breakfast and lunch are offered at select locations through the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

“Play in the Park continues to be the core of our annual summer programming,” said Parks and Recreation Director Wendel Whisenhunt.
