Play that's drawing criticism in #OKC was targeted by critics in Austin, Texas

by William Crum Published: October 7, 2013

Paul Rudnick’s play “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told” was the target of a letter-writing campaign by critics from a Catholic advocacy group in 2010 in Austin, Texas. The City Theatre’s Andy Berkovski and Jeff Hinkle discussed the controversy in an interview with Austin’s KOOP-FM, a community radio station in the Texas capital. Oklahoma State Rep. Dan Fisher, a Republican and Baptist pastor from Yukon, says he’s organizing opponents with the goal of forcing #OKC city leaders to block the production. Oklahoma City Theatre Company’s production opens Dec. 5 in CitySpace, a small theater in the basement of the taxpayer-funded Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City.
