Playoff lives on the line Thursday night for Putnam City North at Yukon

Evan O'Brien Published: November 7, 2013

LAST WEEK: PC North’s four game win streak ended with a 47-7 loss to Lawton Eisenhower, while Yukon easily beat US Grant 55-0.

STORYLINE: It all comes down to this one. Both Yukon and PC North are fighting for a playoff spot, with the winner almost assured of going to the postseason, while the loser knows its season is over. Yukon comes into this one having lost 3 of their last 5 matchups. All of those losses have come against the top 3 teams in 6A-3. The Panthers story is quite different. PC North has won 4 of their last 5 including wins against two playoff teams in Midwest City and Norman North. The Panthers run defense was horrendous last week and we should see the Millers try to take advantage of this. If the Panthers want to keep their Cinderella year alive, the defense will have to play its best game of the year.

THE PICK: A week ago, I know whom I would have picked, but now it is one of the hardest picks of the year. In the end, the Panthers have lost all momentum and this is a huge crush to a team that was relying heavily on it. Yukon wins 34-30 and the Panthers miss out on the playoffs.
