If the Thunder wins tonight at Utah and wins again Wednesday night against Denver, Oklahoma City will have a shot at winning the Northwest division title, which earns a guaranteed top-four seed and homecourt advantage in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
Split those two division games, or lose both, and the Thunder could finish as the No. 8 seed.
With no NBA games scheduled Monday night, the Thunder’s playoff prognosis did not change. But 10 head-to-head meetings among Western Conference playoff contenders the final 10 days of the regular season will impact where teams will be seeded.
Oklahoma City, in sixth place, has clinched a playoff spot. If the Thunder reduces one team’s (listed below) number to zero, then it’s assured of earning the No. 7 seed. Reduce two teams to zero, and Oklahoma City will be the No. 6 seed. Reduce three to zero, and the Thunder would be the No. 5 seed, etc.
