OSU and Missouri are more than just old Big Eight and Big 12 foes. There are plenty of other connections between the two programs.
Here are a few:
* Missouri offensive coordinator Josh Henson is a former OSU player and assistant coach. He went to LSU with former Cowboy coach Les Miles as the tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator, then to Missouri as co-offensive line coach in 2009 before being promoted to coordinator prior to this season.
* OSU receivers coach Jason Ray played at Missouri from 2003-07. Coincidentally, he finished his Tiger career in the Cotton Bowl.
* Former Cowboy defensive lineman Cooper Bassett is now a recruiting graduate assistant at Missouri. His younger brother, Dawson, is a linebacker at OSU and redshirting this season.
“Cooper knows all our plays. I’m a little worried about that,” Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said, half-joking. “…We may have to have Jason and Cooper Bassett make a truce and not give up any information. (Ray) may benefit us. That may put us on a level playing field.”
