Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said an arsonist made two trips to Automasters at 2919 Finley Drive.
Three vehicles were set on fire about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 more were torched about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, the police chief said.
The vehicles were behind a locked gate and a chain link fence, but the arsonist could have easily climbed over the fence, said Jerry Lojka, spokesman for the Midwest City Fire Department.
Four gasoline cans were found on the lot, Lojka said.
"This was not random,” he said "Whoever did this was determined to cause damage.”
One man has been questioned, but no arrests have been made, Lojka said.
Some minor damage was sustained at an adjacent property, he said.
Midwest City fire officials said cars in this fenced lot behind 2919 Finley Drive were set ablaze twice overnight. The charred shells are seen here Thursday morning. Fourteen vehicles were burned. By Jim Beckel, The Oklahoman
