An Oklahoma City man was arrested after a telephone containing selfies of him was found by police in a car along with marijuana, pills and a gun, according to police reports.

Police encountered Jose Alfredo Hernandez, 18, and four other people, including two minors, near a car parked on the 1100 block of Stonewall Avenue just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

After quickly exiting the passenger side of the vehicle and shutting the door, Alfredo told police the car belonged to a friend who had moved to California two months before.

Officers had a wrecker open the car, and inside they found a baggie of marijuana, a bag of prescription pills and a loaded semi-automatic handgun. Alfredo told police he had not been in the vehicle for two months, despite having been observed by police exiting the vehicle.

Police found the keys to the car and a cellphone inside the vehicle. On the phone, officers found numerous photos of Hernandez, many of which were selfies of him flashing gang signs.

Hernandez was arrested on four drug complaints and one complaint of possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony. Hernandez was being held at the Oklahoma County jail Friday evening. His bail was set at $14,000.
