Police find 188 pounds of marijuana in California man's car

A California man was arrested after Oklahoma City police found 188 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop, police reported.

Sheridan Ford Shepherd, 51, of Petaluma, Calif., was arrested Wednesday on complaints of trafficking marijuana and possession of drug proceeds.

Shepherd's vehicle was pulled over about 9:55 p.m. at Meridian and W Reno Avenue, according to the officer's report.

During the traffic stop, the officer found boxes with 165 bundles of marijuana that weighed 188 pounds, and documents, according to the report.

Shepherd was taken to the Oklahoma County jail. His bail is set at $40,000, a jail official said.
