After attempting to contact a homicide suspect during an ongoing standoff at a motel, Tulsa police found him dead.

Tulsa Police Department's Special Operations Team was dispatched to the Days Inn at 35 N. Sheridan Road at 3:17 a.m. after fugitive warrants detectives found 35-year-old Eliboreo Carillo at the motel, said Officer Leland Ashley.

Police had spoken with Carillo through a phone in his motel room but have been unable to make contact with him since about 7 a.m., Ashley said. Several gunshot-like noises were heard inside the room at that time, but police were unsure at the time whether rounds were fired or Carillo was injured.
