LAWTON — Authorities are investigating the death of a Lawton Correctional Facility inmate.

Lawton Police Capt. Craig Akard says 33-year-old Christopher Glass died Monday morning. Police say Glass was found lying on the floor of his cell at the Lawton GEO facility. Glass was later pronounced dead at Southwestern Medical Center.

Akard tells a local newspaper that Glass had visible injuries on his body, including scrapes and bruises. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Records show Glass was serving multiple six-year prison sentences for convictions of bringing contraband into a penal institution and possessing a firearm after a felony conviction.
