Antwun Parker died during an afternoon robbery attempt at Reliable Discount Pharmacy at 5900 S Pennsylvania Ave., police said. The state medical examiner’s office said he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police identified store pharmacist Jerome Ersland, 57, as the man who shot the teenager.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight confirmed Ersland, who lives in Chickasha, has a "concealed carry” permit.

"I wasn’t really shooting to kill,” Ersland said.

He said the robbers were shooting at him, and he was just trying to get them off of him and to go away.

He said he is a disabled veteran who has had a legally concealed weapon for six years, and it was the first time he’d had to use it.

Police Sgt. Mike Klika said the shooting occurred about 5:50 p.m. after two men went into the store with a gun and demanded cash and drugs.

Police are looking for a man they said accompanied the robber into the store, described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds.
