NORMAN — A Norman woman was arrested Tuesday after a police pursuit through a residential neighborhood that ended when she lost control of her pickup and struck another vehicle, officers said.

Paige Whitlow, 20, was booked into the Cleveland County jail on complaints of attempting to elude, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding and driving under suspension.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit by Whitlow’s truck on Berry Road at Boyd Street was taken by ambulance to Norman Regional Hospital about 11:15 a.m., shortly after the crash occurred.

The driver’s injuries were not life-threatening, Norman police Capt. Tom Easley said.

Easley said the woman also struck an Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. truck parked by the side of the road on Duffy Street shortly after the pursuit began.

Easley said the woman initially was stopped on a possible speeding violation, but drove away before an officer could talk to her.

Police pursued the woman’s vehicle west on Boyd to Berry, where the vehicle swerved out of control, Easley said.
