Police release names in southeast Oklahoma City shootings

The name of a man shot dead has been released Friday by Oklahoma City police. A second man who was shot is in critical condition, police said.

Police say the man shot to death Thursday in southeast Oklahoma City was Laron McCoy, 30, of Oklahoma City. A second man was shot and wounded at the same apartment complex.

McCoy was found shot to death about 2:20 p.m. inside an apartment at Wentwood at Grant Hill, 419 Tinker Diagonal, police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow reports Friday.

Santonio Johnson, 24, of Oklahoma City, also was shot at the apartments and then went to the 200 block of SE 45. He was taken to OU Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating what happened, Wardlow said.
