— Police released a sketch Monday depicting the person who reportedly snatched a 10-year-old girl from her backyard.

The girl's mother called police about 9 p.m. Thursday and reported the girl had vanished from the backyard of their home in the 4100 block of Monica Drive. Police began searching the area before the girl returned home about 45 minutes later.

The girl told police she was in the backyard when she saw a black male, about 15-18 years old with short curly hair standing in her neighbor's yard. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.

The girl told police the suspect grabbed her and started running west on Monica Driver with her, hitting her several times.

She said he became nervous when he saw police in the area, so he took her back to her house and threw her over the fence into her backyard.

The girl suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Anyone with information about the abduction is asked to call Del City police at (405) 677-2443.
