Police seek Lawton arsonist

LAWTON (AP) - Police are looking for an arsonist who set fire to the exit doorway of an occupied theater.

Police said the fire early Thursday did not penetrate inside the theater, but people inside could smell gas. A gasoline-type fluid was used to ignite the fire. Five minutes later, a dumpster was set on fire the same way outside a hardware store.

In all there have been four cases of arson reported in the same area of Lawton since early Wednesday.

Lawton Fire Marshal Mark Mitchell said he believes they are all connected.
