Police are looking for the rightful owner of a 5-foot-tall brass angel that someone tried to recycle in Oklahoma City.

Capt. Dexter Nelson said a man with previous arrests for stealing metal tried to recycle the angel Friday morning at Metal Check, 5700 S High. The figure had been decapitated and cut up.

“This thing probably would have cost tens of thousands of dollars, and he was trying to scrap it for a couple of hundred,” Nelson said.

Nelson said the man was not arrested because police do not have any reports of such an item being stolen. They are looking for the rightful owner of the piece. The owner can call 235-7300.
