TULSA -- It's been more than a month since someone walked into a business and fatally shot the owner, but the man's family is confident the killer will be found.

Neal Sweeney died Sept. 5 in a hospital after a gunman shot him the day before in his office at Retail Fuels Marketing. Several days later, police released a composite sketch of the gunman, but no suspect has been named.

"We have no idea who the killer is," Detective Vic Regalado said. "At this point, we are exploring different motives."

The suspect is described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s with a slender build and medium complexion with no facial hair. He is about 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall.

The shooter was wearing sunglasses, a hooded shirt, jeans and white athletic shoes. He was driving a white van that had no side molding or back-side doors.

Detectives have compiled a list of "people of interest" but no names were disclosed.

"We get information every day on this (case)," Regalado said. "We sort through new and existing information and then determine what is fact or fiction."

Sweeney's family said detectives have kept in touch with them and that they remain confident that an arrest will be made.

"They have told us they will be just as happy as we will be when they have a suspect," said Allison Turner, one of Sweeney's three daughters. "We have complete confidence in that they will take care of this properly."

Sweeney was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and influenced students as a Sunday school teacher.

"Right now, we are concentrating on our grieving in dealing with this," said Sweeney's wife, Janis.
