Oklahoma City police used a Taser to stop a man who tried to run away when they came upon him attacking a woman.
Leonard DeWitt Anthony, 49, was arrested on a rape complaint about 10:30 p.m. July 17 behind Buy for Less, 2121 W Hefner Road, according to a police report released Wednesday.
Police arrived on the scene and heard a female's muffled screams from the alley behind the store, where they found a man on top of a woman, the report states.
As Anthony tried to run past the officers, one of them stunned Anthony's upper torso area, and he fell to the ground and was handcuffed.
The victim told police she knew her attacker as a former neighbor at her apartment complex, but said the two were never in a relationship.
Anthony was convicted of a felony burglary charge in 2002 in Alabama.
