Poll: How Americans really feel about the end of Saturday delivery
The U.S. Postal Service, struggling to keep its head above water after years of billion-dollar losses, announced plans this week to end the long-held tradition of Saturday delivery. And a new poll finds that the majority of Americans agree it's about time.
Potential challenges remain, but the proposal to begin only delivering packages on Saturdays, which will potentially save the financially destitute organization a much-needed $2 billion per year, garnered overwhelming support in a YouGov poll conducted over February 7-8.
Of the 1000 people polled, 55 percent agreed with the decision to end Saturday delivery in order to save money, 31 percent disapproved and 14 percent said they were not sure. There's around a 3.7 percent margin of error, for what it's worth.
