Four children were taken from an Oklahoma City home after police found them living amid trash, urine and feces.
An officer was called to the house in the 3200 block of SW 47 about 11:15 a.m. Friday by the property manager who was trying to fix an air-conditioning unit.
According to the police report:
The manager called police after he knocked on the door, heard children crying and noticed the house “trashed.”
The yard had tall grass with toys, a washing machine and debris in it.
When the officer went inside to check on the children, he found a 2-year-old girl and 10-month-old boy wearing dirty shirts. They weren't wearing diapers and it appeared they hadn't been bathed in days.
The floors were dirty and covered in dried food, drinks, what appeared to be urine and feces, piles of clothes and dirty dishes.
The home didn't have a washing machine or a refrigerator. Ketchup and an open package of hot dogs were found in a cooler.
The children's mother told the officer her children weren't wearing diapers because she had run out of them.
She said she has two other children who were not at the house. Police took all four children into protective custody.
