Popular Oklahoma City-area home tours get ready for guests

Season’s greetings — fall home tour season, that is!
It kicks off this weekend with four popular events in Oklahoma City: The Heritage Hills Historic Home & Garden Tour today and Sunday, the Nichols Hills Kitchen Tour on Sunday, the Gatewood Historic District Home & Garden Tour on Nov. 1, and the Linwood Place Historic Home Tour Nov. 8, a tour itself for the history books since it’s Linwood’s centennial year.The historic Overholser Mansion on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Heritage Hills
The tour will be from noon to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Tickets are $15 at the door of any home on the tour, which has the theme "The Roaring ’20s.” Stops are:
• 326 NW 16, nicknamed "The Great Gatsby” for the tour, owned by Bill Carey, Spanish Eclectic style, built in 1929.
• 217 NW 19, "The Prohibition.” owned by Julie Charboneau and Jeff Darnell, a mix of Prairie and other styles, built in 1919.
• 501 NW 14, "The Flappers,” owned by Kirk and Rainy Broussard, American Foursquare, built in 1903.
• 912 NW 15, "The Jazz Age,” owned by Nikki and Marc Edwards, Tudor style, built in 1931.
• 320 NW 19, "The Cat’s Meow, owned by Bill and Carol Orr, Prairie style, built in 1920.
• 900 Block of NW 15, "The Charleston,” owned by Bond and Lori Payne, Georgian and Adam styles, built in 1929.
• 405 NW 15, The Overholser Mansion, owned by the Oklahoma Historical Society, French Chateau style, built in 1903 by early city business leader Henry Overholser.

Nichols Hills kitchens
The Kitchen Tour, organized by the Oklahoma County Medical Society Alliance, will be from 11 a.m. to 5 pm. Sunday, with five newly redesigned kitchens.
Tickets are $12 in advance at A Karen Black Co., 3013 NW 63; Jamie’s, 9313 N Pennsylvania; Mediterranean Imports, 5620 N May Ave.; New Leaf Florist, 9219 N Pennsylvania; On a Whim, 7118 N Western Ave.; Tony Foss Florist, 7610 N May Ave.; Nunu’s Mediterranean Cafe, 3131 W Memorial Road; and Paper Lion, 3218 S Boulevard, Edmond. Tickets will be $15 at the door of tour homes.
Tour stops, which will include food samples and demonstrations from top metro-area chefs, are:
• 1709 Camden Way, home of Jennifer Wheeler and Chris Coleman.
• 1714 Coventry Lane, home of Monique and Andy Nelson.
• 1210 Larchmont Lane, home of Tracy and Tim Hughes.
• 6917 Grand Blvd., home of Cristy and Jeff Mobley.
• 2431 Grand Circle, home of Sally and Steve Bentley.
Gatewood
The tour will be from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 and will include retail-living spaces as well as traditional single-family homes.
Advance tickets are $8 at 23rd Street Antique Mall, 3023 NW 23.
Tickets will be $10 at any tour stop on tour day.
Stops along the Gatewood tour are:
• 1928 NW 17, home of Doug and Merrily Leach, Colonial Revival, built in 1925.
• 1919 NW 20, home of Mark MacDonald, Bungalow/Craftsman, built in 1924.
• 1701 NW 16, home and business of Estrella Evans, Velvet Monkey Salon and private loft apartment, built in 1927 as an ice house, renovated last year.
• 1830 NW 18, home of Jerry and Ann Fent, Colonial Revival, built in 1928.
• 1321 NW 16, home of John Holmes, Prairie style, built in 1921 as a fourplex, renovated to a single-family home.
• 1738 NW 16, owned by Keith Rinearson, PhotoArt Studios, a 1950s-era commercial building now photography studios and personal space. For more information, go to www.gatewoodokc.com.
Linwood Place
The tour, which celebrates the neighborhood’s centennial year, will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 8.
Tickets are $8 in advance at 23rd Street Antique Mall and at Prairie Thunder Baking Co. in the Plaza Court Building at NW 10 and Walker Avenue.
Tickets will be $10 at any of the stops on the day of the tour.
