A Porter man died Thursday when his sport utility vehicle ran off the Creek Turnpike in Broken Arrow.

— A Porter man died Thursday afternoon in a wreck on the Creek Turnpike in Wagoner County, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said Friday.

Randy Ernsten, 53, was driving south on the turnpike at 61st Street S when his sport utility vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle hit a fence and dirt embankment, went airborne for 34 feet, crossed 61st Street S, hit a second fence and landed in a ravine, troopers said.

Ernsten was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. He was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
