PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Portland's new NBA Development League team has surpassed the 1,000 mark for season tickets sold.

The Maine Red Claws announced Monday that they hit the mark over the weekend. Team officials said the Red Claws are the first D-League club to sell more than 1,000 season tickets this season.

Maine's largest city was awarded a franchise in the D-League last winter. The league serves as a feeder league to the NBA, with the schedule running from November to April.

Team President Jon Jennings said he expects all 24 home games to be sellouts. The team will play at the Portland Expo, which has 3,100 seats.
