PAULS VALLEY — A Garvin County family of three was inside their home when what local officials believe to be a tornado obliterated their doublewide mobile home and buried them inside the debris Wednesday afternoon

"When we arrived, neighbors had already dug them out and were putting them in a pickup to take them down to the road," Garvin County Undersheriff Steven Brooks said.

Amazingly, Brooks said, the three people only received minor injuries, the worst of which was believed to be that a woman may have broken her ankle in the storm.

According to Brooks, who responded to the scene, the sheriff's office got a call about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday that a tornado had damaged a home about 4 miles east of Pauls Valley.

Judging by the damage he saw, including twisted and snarled trees and a narrow damage path, Brooks said there was little doubt in his mind that a tornado briefly touched down.

The mobile home was completely destroyed, according to Brooks.

"They are very fortunate to have lived through that one," he said. "I know these people. They're good people, and God was definitely looking over them during this."

OK........I think that really has nothing to do with this story, a storm came through with a possible twister and hit a home, with the family still in and everyone lived, and that there was only minor injuries. God was watching over them.

That looks very similiar to a Palm Harbor Home. Some things stand out in an armchair, remote asessment. First of all, the roof peeled off like a can of sardines. It peeled off totally in tact. Second, it shifted off the stem wall at almost a 90 degree angle. It lifted off as a whole unit and came down as a whole unit. So, WTBS, I hasten to think these people were sold down the river by some unscrupulous operator. The stem wall looks like nothing but a pile of cement blocks. There appears to be no achor rods. This is a horrible installation especially in an open field like that. At best, the roof should have hurricane anchor brackets. Its now code even in Oklahoma. It appears to have been just finish nailed to the house frame. All in all, these people were let down.
