NewsOK Sports 10:33 a.m. The NBA offseason has entered "LeBron Decision II" territory. How will LeBron's (or Chris Bosh's) decision affect the Thunder's pursuit of Pau Gasol? Ask Mike Sherman on the Power Lunch chat at 11 a.m.

Mike Sherman 11:01 a.m. Greetings, folks. I'm out at H&H Gun Range off I-40 and Meridian in Oklahoma City. Chatting from here and then grabbing lunch with an old friend and colleague Bill Bootz. Planning on an onion burger. Come join us after we chat.

Mike Sherman 11:01 a.m. Now for the chat

Luis Adriano 11:01 a.m. You spend $14 billion of tax payer money only to get blown away 7-1. Not only should the coach and players get fired, the President of Brazil should get impeached.

Mike Sherman 11:01 a.m. And you think Scott Brooks has problems.....

Mike Sherman 11:03 a.m. I'm counting on the Wall Street Journal/New York Times/Washington Post to follow up on a story about the value of this World Cup to Brazil. I always think economic impact studies are squishy, but I'm pretty sure Brazil is getting more out of this than a trip to the semifinals.

Mike Sherman 11:04 a.m. Also, cut the prez some slack. It's not her fault Brazil had to face Germany without its best player and its best defender.

Mike Sherman 11:05 a.m. I'm still stinging from Chile's loss to Brazil. I hate penalty kicks. Chi. Chi. Chi. Ley. Ley. Ley.

Guest 11:05 a.m. Who's really dictating all this Lebron talk? Does he really want to go back to Cleveland or is his agent angling for the Heat to make some moves?

Mike Sherman 11:06 a.m. I don't know who is dictating it, but my good friend Darnell Mayberry turned me on to this this morning. If he does end up in Cleveland a personal trainer and a cupcake maker have led on this story for days. Check it out: http://www.cleveland.com/en...

Mike Sherman 11:08 a.m. More credit for Darnell: He was saying months ago that Darnell was headed back to Cleveland. I think it was just a hunch. Perhaps a little-known fact: We hired Darnell away from the Akron Beacon-Journal, where he was covering small colleges and preps. He's got connections. Darnell reminded me this morning that I laughed at him when he said LeBron would go back. I d don't remember it that way, but whatever.

Thunderstruck 11:08 a.m. Chances Pau Gasol comes to OKC? 30%?

Mike Sherman 11:09 a.m. Seems a bit high to me.

Mike Sherman 11:09 a.m. This line from an ESPN story dropped the odds: "During Gasol's meeting with Brooks, according to a league source, the 13-year veteran peppered Brooks with questions about the quality of life in Oklahoma City and wondered aloud about leaving a culturally diverse city like Los Angeles for middle America."

Mike Sherman 11:10 a.m. Maybe Mick Cornett should make the next call to Pau. What should he pitch? Midtown? Arts Festival? What's Serge Ibaka doing these days. Help a city out.

Daniel 11:10 a.m. Seems like Pau Gasol is just using the Thunder as leverage against teams that can pay him $10+ mil.

Mike Sherman 11:13 a.m. I think Pau has all the leverage he needs without using Oklahoma City. He can play New York against Los Angeles and Chicago.

His old coach (Phil Jackson) and teammate (Derek Fisher) against Kobe Bryant and/or Derrick Rose.

The leverage argument loses its logic considering Oklahoma City is (likely) offering less money than the Lakers, Knicks and Bulls. To me, it's amazing OKC is even in the discussion. It's a testament to the power of Durant, Westbrook and the Thunder brand.

MM 11:13 a.m. If the Senior Open gets rain, do rounds push back a day or do they play two rounds in one day? Too hot for those old guys to play that many rds in a day.

Mike Sherman 11:14 a.m. Great question. Checking with our crack staff back at the office.

UPDATE (2:34 p.m.): Cody Stavenhagen reports that U.S. Senior Open course and tournament officials are expecting more bad weather: http://bit.ly/U4jRPz

Daxx 11:14 a.m. Has Jake Hubenak officially left the OSU football program?

Mike Sherman 11:17 a.m. I don't know. I just asked him though. I'll let you know when he gets back to me with an answer.

Reggie 11:17 a.m. If the Thunder somehow got Gasol, I'm looking at it from a win-now and later standpoint. He's a good player, but Adams, McGary and Ibaka are gonna get better just being around a guy that skilled everyday.

Mike Sherman 11:22 a.m. Presti likes the influence of champions and has tried to bring in players with a championship pedigree almost from the start. Malik Rose (2009), Nazr Mohammed (2011), Derek Fisher (2012), Caron Butler (2014). Certainly Gasol has more to offer as a player than those guys. This is an offensive move to get more easy baskets closer to the rim without clogging up the lanes for Westbrook, Durant, Jackson, Roberson. Did you see that last name I threw in there?

Patrick 11:22 a.m. So, if the NCAA allows DGB immediate eligibility after being dismissed from Mizzou for alledged drug-related incidents and being abusive to women, what's to keep a player from behaving badly to intentionally get kicked off his team so he can transfer wherever he wants immediately? Clearly, that's not the intent of the "run-off" rule.
