Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. I am absolutely ready for the Thunder season to start. I really can't believe that it's already time for the NBA season to get under way. It came around quickly since the Thunder played so late into the playoffs. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:04 a.m. I will absolutely be going to some of the preseason games. I think the Thunder has two at home. I'll probably make one or both.

Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. I have to think it's going to be a close game. CA has been struggling a bit, but the Titans always seem to get better as the season goes on. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:11 a.m. Don't know if you guys heard this, but we're talking on the hangout about the Big 12 edict that eliminates noisemakers once the ball is set. It means the Paddle People at OSU won't be able to whack those things once the ball is set.

Larry 11:11 a.m. What OU game will you cover next, and what do expect from the Sooners?

Jenni Carlson 11:12 a.m. I won't cover the Sooners again for awhile. I'm not going to Tech, and I've got OSU the following week. Frankly, I can't remember what the next OU game is that I have. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:12 a.m. As far as what to expect from OU, it's a little bit hard to say. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:14 a.m. I expected OU to play a whole heck of a lot better than it did vs. Kansas State. So at this point, I'm not sure where this team is mentally. The Sooners need to get it together, or they'll lose at Tech. It's a place they've lost before. No reason to think it'll be an easy place to win this year.

harry man 11:14 a.m. hey harry man here. i predicted ksu 28-24 over OU. 1-0 against oklahoma's schools. OSU 35-Texas 32...

Jenni Carlson 11:15 a.m. I picked OU over KSU, so clearly, I got that one wrong, Harry Man. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:17 a.m. I'm going with Texas on Saturday, 35-31. But Harry Man, since you got last week's game right, maybe I should go with you and pick the Cowboys.

Larry 11:17 a.m. Will you be surprised if Landy Jones makes it big in the NFL?

Jenni Carlson 11:18 a.m. Nothing surprises me in the NFL. I mean, there are a bunch of guys playing big roles in the league who were barely blips on the radar as college football players. And there are guys who were college stars who never make it. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. That said, I think Landry Jones has a chance to be an NFL guy, but he still needs to fix the happy-feet problem. It's been an issue since Day 1, and it still is. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. You'd think it would've been worked out by now, but it still continues. That would worry me if I was an NFL GM looking to draft a QB.

harry man 11:19 a.m. does your sports editor own a TIE?

Jenni Carlson 11:20 a.m. Near as I know, yes. You seem really worried about this question, Harry Man. Don't you ask it every week? ;)

James 11:20 a.m. Will it be okay if people are clapping when the other team is at the line?

Jenni Carlson 11:21 a.m. James, as near as I understand, this noisemaker issue is related to artificial noisemakers. People can still cheer and chant and go crazy whenever. But once the football is set, no more artificial noisemakers.

Jenni Carlson 11:21 a.m. Not sure what rules might be out there for basketball. Stay tuned for that.

Jenni Carlson 11:21 a.m. I'll bring it up! Not sure what our future plans are, but maybe fans will one day be part of it.

Jenni Carlson 11:22 a.m. I've got Texas winning 35-31. I think it's going to be a heck of a game.

Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. I'm pretty sure that ISN'T in our future plans, Harry Man. Sorry. ;)

James 11:24 a.m. Thank goodness...let's hope I don't ever need a prosthetic limb...go Pokes!

Jenni Carlson 11:27 a.m. James, I'm pretty sure that no one is going to go looking for prosthetic limbs! I could be wrong, but I don't think the refs are going to take the time for that when penalizing artificial noisemakers.

Jenni Carlson 11:28 a.m. So, sure. OU SHOULD beat Tech, but the Sooners have taken much better teams to Lubbock and lost. The Red Raiders aren't as good as some of those past years, but Lubbock has been a tough place for OU to win in recent years. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:29 a.m. OU has to play much better at Tech, and that starts with Landry Jones. Can't turn over the ball like he did vs. K-State.

Stevie G 11:29 a.m. So Jenni can we take from your prediction that OSU is better than we think or Texass is worse than we think?

Jenni Carlson 11:30 a.m. I don't think Texas is as good as some people think. Maybe the Horns will show otherwise Saturday, but to this point, they haven't been tested, and I'm just not ready to assume that they're a ton better than a year ago. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:30 a.m. Yes, Texas is better, but how much better? I'm not convinced they're a bunch better.

Guest 11:30 a.m. I don't get to watch a lot of OSU games. Do they usually bang the wall with the paddles during plays?

Jenni Carlson 11:32 a.m. Yep. The paddles are pretty darn constant during the game. Obviously, they don't use them when OSU is on offense and is trying to communicate. ...

Jenni Carlson 11:34 a.m. The paddles are part of the noise at OSU, but they aren't the only noise being made. OSU is actually a pretty loud home environment, and the paddles help that. But OSU will still be loud, even without the paddles.

harry man 11:34 a.m. why cant this program change some. like you sports writers asking your sports editor questions. change is GOOD. OSU 35-texas 32

Jenni Carlson 11:35 a.m. Harry Man, we just added the hangout. THAT in and of itself is change. Give us a chance to get comfortable with this before you change the format! :)

Jenni Carlson 11:36 a.m. She looks great, doesn't she? I'm jealous of her good lighting. I'm right by the windows in my home office, but it's clearly not as good as her lighting. I think she's got some professional lighting in her apartment.

Alum in AZ 11:38 a.m. I suspect the Suns will want Harden really badly! I was siting behind Lon Babby during the Suns-Thunder game last year when he lit them up for 40.

Jenni Carlson 11:39 a.m. No doubt. I have no doubt the Suns would bend over backward for him. Does he want to leave the Thunder, though? That's ultimately the question.
