Jenni Carlson 10:32 a.m. Hey, all! Looking forward to today's live chat. We'll get going in a bit, but send those questions in now!
Jenni Carlson 11:00 a.m. Ready, set, chat!
Shawn 11:00 a.m. Trade up for Gary Harris?
Jenni Carlson 11:01 a.m. An interesting thought for Thunder brass. From the last couple mock drafts that I've seen, the Thunder would have to trade WAY up for that. Harris seems to be in the 8 or 10 range now. I'm not sure what the Thunder would have to package to make that happen. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:02 a.m. But I am sure of two things: the Thunder will not draft both spots for itself and this draft is deep enough that the Thunder could get a really good player in the 16 to 21 range. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. So, does OKC stand pat at 21 and package 29 to move out? Or does it package to move up? Seems like if it does move up, Harris is definitely a good target. Like his game a lot.
Guest 11:03 a.m. So how can you play a game for hours and not have a winner? Soccer - weird
Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. The beautiful game, right? ...
Jenni Carlson 11:04 a.m. I wish soccer went to shootout in every tie situation. I know it's not the tradition, but what would be wrong with that? Seems like it would make every match even that much more exciting.
Josh of Ish 11:04 a.m. What's it like covering a team that disseminates information like a nun with a vow of silence? Looking around you can find leaks and stories on everyone. Here, we are stuck discussing the same information over and over until we are all shocked with the same events/decision.
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. I assume you're talking about the Thunder, Josh, though we deal with some other folks that aren't real forthcoming with their info either. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:06 a.m. It's a bit weird, that's for sure. I mean, there are lots of teams that let media talk with players after they've worked them out for the draft. Here, the only way we know a guy has worked out for the Thunder is if said guy lets it be known. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. The Thunder has its reasons, of course, and thus far, the team has been very successful with the draft. Because of that, I'm sure they're not going to change any time soon. It's frustrating for fans and media, but ultimately if the Thunder gets the best out of the draft, I assume they see that as a win.
Josh of Ish 11:07 a.m. Has everyone else resigned themselves to Shumpert being the starting 2 next season?
Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. I don't think so. I mean, that seems like a popular theory, but since he isn't even part of the team yet, I don't think you can go that far. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:08 a.m. The Thunder has other options, after all.
